The claim record

Every step lands in the same record.

Here's one roof claim that Remi inspects for the carrier, followed through to the warranty. Each step adds to the record, and your adjuster sees where the claim stands inside the systems they already use.

Skip the claim story
  1. Assignment

    The claim comes in.

Your team assigns the inspection, or an adjuster refers the policyholder through Remi's adjuster portal in seconds. The policyholder confirms a few claim details, and Remi reaches out to schedule the inspection.

    What the adjuster sees

One referral, sent from the portal. Remi takes it from there.

  2. Inspection

A Remi inspector on the roof.

A Remi inspector arrives in a Remi van. Inspectors are W-2 employees of Remi, so the person documenting your claim works for the company that will stand behind the roof. Inspections follow your program's requirements for photos, documentation and submission.

    What the adjuster sees

An inspection documented to your program's photo and submission standards.

A smiling Remi inspector holds out a tablet, a Remi van parked outside a brick home behind him
  3. Record

    Every photo in its place.

Each damage photo is pinned to a 3D model of the home, at the spot where the damage is. Anyone reviewing the claim can see what the inspector found and exactly where it sits on the roof.

    What the adjuster sees

  4. Estimate

The estimate, written from the record.

Remi writes the estimate in or Cotality line items, at Remi pricing, on your scope and guidelines. On a claim Remi inspects, the estimate follows the inspection, with timing confirmed per program during vendor review; on adjuster referrals it's ready within 24 hours of Remi receiving the referral and scope of loss. It's labor-backed: with a complete scope, Remi guarantees it. Because the estimate comes straight from the inspection record, each line item traces back to something the inspector documented.

    What the adjuster sees

An "Estimate complete" notification the moment the scope is uploaded and ready for review.

    • Estimate complete
  5. Review

    You decide coverage.

Your adjuster reviews the estimate for accuracy and gives final approval to proceed. Coverage and payment decisions stay with the carrier; Remi's part is the construction scope and what it costs.

    What the adjuster sees

Status updates in XactAnalysis or Cotality and your claim center, with file-specific questions handled in comments on the file.

  6. Sign-off

The policyholder signs a guaranteed price.

Remi walks the policyholder through the approved scope and answers their questions before anything is scheduled. If they choose Remi, they sign a standard home improvement contract at a guaranteed price, and any extra repairs found mid-project cost them nothing beyond their deductible. Qualified policyholders can also finance the deductible with $0 due at signing.

    What the adjuster sees

"Homeowner contacted," then "Forms signed" as soon as work and payment authorizations are secured.

    • Homeowner contacted
    • Forms signed
  7. Install

    Vetted crews, checked by photo.

Remi coordinates permits where they're required and schedules a licensed, insured partner crew. Every partner crew carries at least $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate in general liability and keeps an English-speaking foreman on site. A typical roof replacement takes 1 to 3 workdays once the crew starts. When the work is done, the crew uploads photos for Remi's quality review before payment goes out, and Remi inspects the job before the crew leaves the property.

    What the adjuster sees

"Work started," then milestone updates through each major phase of the restoration.

    • Work started

  8. Warranty

    Remi stands behind the roof.

Remi roof replacements include Remi's 5-year workmanship warranty, which transfers to the new owner if the home sells, plus the manufacturer's materials warranty. Solar reinstalls add a 2-year warranty on roof penetrations, and an optional extended workmanship warranty runs to 15 years.

    What the adjuster sees

A finished claim. Warranty questions after close go to Remi support at 916.999.7497.

The numbers

What we measure, and how.

Every figure here is one Remi already publishes. Next to each is exactly what it counts, since a turnaround time means little until you know when the clock starts.

Programs

Two ways to work with Remi.

Some carriers want their own adjuster on the roof first, and others want Remi to inspect for them. In both programs the carrier decides coverage and the policyholder decides whether to hire Remi.

Your adjuster inspects, then hands Remi the scope.

  1. Adjuster inspects

Your adjuster performs the standard inspection and gathers the details of the loss.

  2. Adjuster introduces Remi

On qualifying claims, the adjuster introduces Remi to the insured as an exterior repair partner.

  3. Adjuster sends the referral

The referral and scope of loss go to Remi through the adjuster portal.

  4. Remi writes the estimate

Within 24 hours of the referral and scope of loss, in Xactimate or Cotality line items, at Remi pricing on your scope and guidelines.

  5. Adjuster approves

Your adjuster reviews the estimate for accuracy and approves it.

  6. Homeowner approves

Remi reviews the approved scope with the insured and schedules the work once they choose Remi.

  7. Remi completes the work

The full scope, with photo-verified quality checks along the way.

What Remi needs from the adjuster

  • The deductible amount
  • Scope and severity of loss
  • Depreciation, recoverable and non-recoverable
  • Whether the insured has already received payment from the carrier
  • Optional: your Hover report, for a faster estimate

How assignments are billed

Remi invoices a flat $60 when it delivers the completed estimate. If the policyholder then hires Remi, the $60 comes off the final project invoice.

Billing terms as published for adjuster-led referrals. We'll confirm billing for inspection programs with your team during vendor review.

What Remi repairs

Roofing for every common roof type, asphalt through tile and metal; siding in vinyl, fiber cement and wood; gutters and downspouts; and solar panel detach and reset, handled by the same contractor as the roof.

Remi upgrades materials on every job at no cost to the carrier, for example the underlayment, and 3-tab shingles to Class 3 shingles.

Accountability

The carrier determines coverage. The homeowner authorizes the work. Remi owns the repair.

Remi is accountable end to end.

Vendor teams usually ask one question before any other: who actually does the work? Here's the straight answer.

Remi employs its inspectors as W-2 staff, and they run the inspection in Remi vans. Remi writes the estimate, while licensed, insured partner crews install the roof to Remi's work order and requirements. The policyholder signs one contract, with Remi, and Remi reviews every crew's completion photos before the crew is paid. The workmanship warranty belongs to Remi, so when a policyholder calls about the roof, Remi takes the call and arranges the fix.

“Now Remi owns the roofing project from the first inspection all the way to the certificate of completion.”

Common questions

What claims teams ask us.

Remi is a residential roofing company in Lehi, Utah that has completed 40,000+ projects. On claims, Remi either inspects on the carrier's behalf or works from your adjuster's scope, writes estimates in Xactimate or Cotality line items and posts status updates in XactAnalysis or Cotality and your claim center. On adjuster referrals the estimate is ready within 24 hours of Remi receiving the referral and scope of loss; on claims Remi inspects, it follows the inspection, with timing confirmed per program during vendor review. Licensed, insured partner crews install, and Remi holds the policyholder's contract, reviews the work and backs a 5-year workmanship warranty. For diligence, start with Remi's license directory, the SOC 2 Type II report and certificates of insurance.

It runs two ways. With adjuster-led referrals, your adjuster inspects, sends Remi the referral and scope of loss, and approves Remi's estimate; Remi does the work once the policyholder chooses Remi. With inspection programs, Remi inspects on your behalf and submits documented findings, you decide coverage, and then Remi completes the repairs. Estimate-only assignments cost a flat $60, credited if the policyholder hires Remi, and full assignments bill after the policyholder signs a Direction to Pay.

On adjuster referrals, Remi writes the estimate within 24 hours of receiving the referral and scope of loss. That window covers the estimate itself; the adjuster's inspection, your review and the install sit outside it. On claims Remi inspects for you, the estimate follows the inspection, with timing confirmed per program during vendor review. Supplements are the exception: when the adjuster's first visit produces a complete scope, Remi guarantees its estimate with no surprise supplements or change orders. Remi doesn't publish a supplement rate, so ask for it during vendor review.

Both, at different steps. Remi employs its inspectors as W-2 staff. Remi's own certified team inspects and writes the estimates, and Remi handles policyholder communication and quality review. Licensed, insured partner crews install the roof, and each must carry $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate in general liability and keep an English-speaking foreman on site. The policyholder signs with Remi, and Remi backs the workmanship warranty.

Remi is. The policyholder's contract is with Remi, crews work to Remi's work order, and Remi's 5-year workmanship warranty covers installation problems and transfers if the home sells. The policyholder calls Remi support at 916.999.7497, and Remi works with them to make it right.

Remi works with national and regional carriers through adjuster-referral and inspection programs, and it's an approved option with select carriers. We don't name carrier partners on our website. References are available during vendor review.

Remi serves homeowners nationwide except New York, Hawaii and Alaska, and it's licensed wherever a contractor license is required: 38 license numbers across 36 jurisdictions (35 states and Washington, D.C.), each listed. Some states don't issue a state-level license, so check the directory against each state in your footprint. Remi carries general liability and workers' compensation and provides certificates on request.

Remi Labs is the company behind Remi, a residential roofing company headquartered in Lehi, Utah. It was in Y Combinator's Winter 2022 batch, has completed 40,000+ projects and has completed a SOC 2 Type II examination. Sunrun calls Remi its trusted and preferred roofing partner. We share the financial and operating detail a vendor-risk review needs directly with carriers.

Follow your carrier's rules on contractor referrals first. On qualifying claims, adjusters in Remi's referral program introduce Remi as an exterior repair partner, and the policyholder decides whether to hire Remi. Policyholders get a guaranteed price, no cost beyond the deductible if more repairs turn up mid-project, text updates with a milestone tracker, and warranties included at no extra cost. Remi holds a 4.8-star rating from 600+ Google reviews.

Yes. Qualified policyholders can finance their deductible and other out-of-pocket costs with $0 due at signing. Approval happens over the phone, payments are low and monthly, and the financing comes through Remi's bank partners. Pre-qualification uses a soft credit pull and takes about 5 minutes, and there's no pre-payment penalty.

No. The insurance company makes the coverage and payment decision under the policy. Remi determines what construction work it recommends and what that work costs, and the homeowner decides whether to sign a roofing contract and authorize it. A policyholder who wants someone to represent them in the claim hires a public adjuster, a separately licensed role.

Every Remi estimate uses Xactimate or Cotality line items so it matches carrier guidelines. Adjusters get status updates in XactAnalysis or Cotality and the claim center at each milestone: estimate complete, homeowner contacted, forms signed and work started. File-specific questions go in comments on the file. To write the estimate, Remi needs the deductible, the scope and severity of loss, depreciation (recoverable and non-recoverable) and whether the insured has been paid, and a Hover report speeds things up.

Remi has completed 40,000+ projects through a nationwide network of licensed, insured partner crews, and it serves homeowners everywhere except New York, Hawaii and Alaska. Storm-surge capacity depends on the market and the event, so we plan it with each carrier during vendor review, state by state.
